Hotel Policies & House Rules
Welcome to The Old Drum. Our goal is to provide you with a clean, safe, and friendly experience. By checking in, you agree to adhere to the following policies and rules, which may be updated periodically.
Damage Policy
- Damage and Theft: You are responsible for any damage or theft caused by you or your party, whether intentional or accidental. We reserve the right to charge your credit/debit card for any damages discovered after your departure.
- Post-Checkout Damage: If your room is found in disarray or trashed, a £500.00 cleaning fee will apply.
- Room Damage: Damage to rooms, fixtures, furnishings, and equipment will be charged at 150% of the replacement value plus shipping and handling. Criminal charges may be pursued in extreme cases.
- Mattress and Bedding Damage: Charges will apply for special cleaning, repair, or replacement of damaged linens and mattresses.
- Tampering with Fire Safety Equipment: Tampering with fire detection or firefighting equipment will result in charges and possible eviction. Law enforcement may be involved.
Safety Policy
- Candles, Incense, and Essential Oils: Prohibited and treated as smoking. A £250.00 cleaning fee will apply.
- Cooking Appliances and Combustibles: Prohibited in guest rooms. A £300.00 fee will be charged for violations. Open flames and fireworks are not allowed.
- Firearms and Weapons: Prohibited for guests and vendors, with exemptions for on-duty law enforcement and military personnel. Violations may result in eviction and legal action.
- Illness and Epidemics: We reserve the right to refuse accommodations to guests with contagious diseases. You may be required to seek medical care for serious illnesses. During epidemics, precautionary measures may be implemented.
- Infestation: Guests will be charged for costs related to addressing infestations brought into the hotel.
- Enforcement: Violations of our policies may result in eviction without refund and a minimum £300.00 cleaning fee.
Fire Safety Policy
- Lighting and Electrical Appliances: Do not cover lamps or other electrical appliances to prevent overheating and potential fire hazards.
- Fire Detection: Our hotel is equipped with smoke detectors, fire safety information, and emergency evacuation plans in each room.
Check-in / Check-out Policy
- Check-in Time: 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
- Early Check-in/Pre-Registration: Based on availability. Pre-registration and payment may be required for early check-ins.
- Check-in Requirements: Guests must be 18 or older and provide valid photo identification and a signed credit card at check-in.
- Pre-Authorization at Check-in: A hold will be placed on your card for the full amount of your stay plus tax. This is not a charge but a hold on funds.
- Guest Registration: All guests must provide contact information and register their vehicle.
- Guaranteed Reservations: All reservations must be guaranteed with a valid major credit card. Cancellations must be made 48 hours prior to arrival to avoid charges.
- Check-out Time: 10:30 a.m. Late check-out may incur additional charges.
- Early Departure: Guests checking out early may incur a one-night fee plus tax.
- Payment: Valid credit cards are required. Cash payments must be accompanied by a credit card guarantee. Checks are not accepted.
- Third-Party Payments: Generally not allowed. Exceptions require prior approval and completion of a Credit Card Authorization form.
- Rates: Quoted in GBP plus tax and subject to change.
- Right to Refuse Service: We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for reasons that do not violate laws. Violations of policies may result in eviction without refund.
- Cancellation: Must be made 3 days prior to arrival to avoid charges.
- No-Show Charges: Failure to check in will result in a charge for one night plus tax.
Alcohol Policy
- Consumption: Only in guest rooms. Alcohol is not allowed in public areas. Consumption during events is restricted to those 18 and older with valid ID.
Lost & Found Policy
- Liability: The Old Drum is not liable for lost, misplaced, stolen, or damaged valuables. We will assist in locating lost items.
- Found Items: Logged and kept for five days. Postage will be charged for returns.
Code of Conduct
- 100% Smoke-Free: Smoking and use of any strong-smelling substances are prohibited. A £250.00 cleaning fee will apply for violations.
- Furniture and Decorations: Do not move or remove. Damages will be charged.
- Bicycles/Hover Boards/Roller Blades: Not allowed in rooms or public areas.
- Microwave/Refrigerator: Not available in all rooms. Pungent food odors will incur a £250.00 cleaning fee.
- Children: Must be supervised at all times.
- Quiet Hours: 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
- Visitors: No visitors after 10:00 p.m. Must notify Front Desk upon arrival and be accompanied by the registered guest.
- Do-Not-Disturb and Room Access: We reserve the right to enter your room for housekeeping, maintenance, or policy enforcement.
- No Pets: Except for assistance dogs. A £250.00 fee will apply for violations.
- Additional Bedding: Available upon request. Charges may apply.
- No In-Room Party: No parties or loud disturbances allowed. Violations may result in eviction without refund.
- Breakfast: For registered guests only. Visitors must pay a fee.
- Housekeeping/Room Inspection: Provided daily. Rooms are inspected for prohibited odors and items.
- Linen Changing: Changed on a rotation schedule. Towels are exchanged daily.
- Special Requests: We will try to accommodate but cannot guarantee availability.
- Mini Bar Service: Report consumed items at check-out or your card will be charged accordingly.
